Vanguard Alta Pro 284CT 4 Section Carbon Fiber Tripod

This design has been done before, but Vanguard has introduced some new patent pending features that makes the Alta Pro series a step above the rest. This Carbon Fiber Alta Pro 283CT is a breeze to set up and a pleasure to use. From the minute you remove it from the box, you can feel the quality construction. The flip locks have a positive feel and lock sure and quick. The same can be said for the leg angle locks. They are conveniently and logically located, furthermore their design insures that the leg angle locks cannot be activated accidentally. Another plus is the legs can be fully closed without using the leg angle locks. The locks automatically reset so that the legs only open to the normal angel on the next use. The legs can be independently locked at 3 angels; 25°, 50°, and 80°.

The Multi Angle Central Column is a breeze to use. Simply raise the center column to its highest point while pressing the safety release at the base of the column, flip open the Instant Swivel Lock and tilt the column to the desired position. Resetting the ISSL (Instant Swivel Stop Lock) firmly locks the column at the desired angle and no amount of reasonable force will move the column. This is a feature we have not seen on any other multi angle tripod and a reason why Vanguard is a leader in design. A separate pan lock permits a full horizontal rotation and the center column extension can be set up to 16" with the column elevation lock. The hexagonal design of the center column provides unparalleled rigidity and positive locking. This makes the Alta Pro perfect as a copy stand or for macro photography.
