We began this journey in 2005 simply out of necessity, since we were out of a job and the photo industry was all we knew having worked in it since graduating college. I started in retail since grad school fell through and I knew photography. I had starting shooting pictures in high school as the yearbook editor and continued shooting in college for the school newspaper and yearbook. I had a knack and an eye and I had all the right skills so into the camera store I went. When the rent comes due, hobbies don’t pay the bills. Nine years from clerk to store manager to regional manager and then a wife. Retail sucks for married life. Working nights, weekends and crazy long holiday hours just did not suit the new situation. Hell has not fury like missing time with the misses.
Off to greener pastures where I went into the wholesale side of the business as a sales representative for a new camera manufacturer that was trying to introduce 3D cameras. Big swoosh and then implosion. A bunch of years go by with different jobs in and out of the industry till I am back in photo retail again until that sputters out big time but now mortgage, kids in college and lots of expenses. So I go back to school for my masters while using my many contacts in the photo industry to set up selling on a new thing called eBay. Thus begins the birth of Philly Photo Supply.
We stick to selling accessories. No matter what technology effects the thing that takes the picture, a camera bag is always a camera bag and a tripod will always be needed to support whatever it is you are shooting with. Besides the overhead is a bit lighter too. So we work out of our basement and ship worldwide. We keep up with the latest technologies in accessories and remain knowledgeable about the products we sell. We try very hard to give the very best service we can. We have fair pricing, ship fast, accept returns and only carry the best in brand for anything we stock.
So there you have our story. We have been working really hard to get our thousands of products listed here but it is time consuming and laborious to make sure we have all the right information presented.
