Shimoda Designs was founded in 2017 by Peter Waisnor and me – Ian Millar. We are a couple of photographers who also share a love for camera bags, design, and product development.
Our products are a direct reaction to the outdoor lifestyles we live as adventure photographers. We believe that better images can be created by stronger and healthier photographers. This is why our backpacks are designed to get you and your camera where you need to be with greater energy and focus.
Our ideas and concepts have been shaped by our ever-growing community of adventure photographers and filmmakers. We’re a stronger brand with our community’s input. The more photography-inspired adventures we have as a collective, the better our gear can become.
